TACLOBAN CITY – As part of Prestone’s 90th anniversary, the search for Anak ng Mekanino Scholarship program reached out in Tacloban City, with a bid process to select college scholars locally.
At least eighty local auto mechanics and mechanics from neighboring towns of Leyte attended.
“We are glad to finally present our new advocacy to our local mechanics here in Leyte through our pocket event. We’ve been conducting these kinds of event to reach as much mechanics as possible and let them know abut our scholarship program,” said Monique Gonzales, Prestone brand manager.
“We consider this grant as our way of giving back to them for their continuous support, especially now that we’re celebrating our 90th year anniversary,” the manager stated.
Gonzales presented the application process and received entries of the nationwide search for the nine recipients of the Anak ng Mekaniko Scholarship.
First launched back in November 2017, the company initiated this advocacy to pay tribute to the local auto mechanics by giving them an opportunity to support their son or daughters tertiary education.
The Anak ng Mekaniko Scholarship Program is open to all high school graduates, graduating senior high school students, passers of Alternative Learning System (ALS) or Philippine Education Placement Test (PEPT) as well as for those individuals who want to go back and complete their college education.
All the nine scholars will be granted a full scholarship for a four-year course of their choices in any STI College branch nationwide. Aside from the tuition fees, the grant also includes stipends as well as books and uniform allowances, Gonzales said. (TapatNews)
