ROLAN Kerwin Espinosa has admitted to Senator Manny Pacquiao that the young drug lord gave a total of P8 Million to Sec. Leila de Lima.
Pacquiao told a television program that Espinosa’s statement was stipulated in his affidavit.
Espinosa’s affidavit is already at the Senate Committee on Justice.
De Lima reiterated her denial on the issue.
The P8 Million drug money was first brought to the attention of the public during the hearing of the Senate Committee on Justice headed by Senators Panfilo Lacson and Richard Gordon on the hearing about death of Albuera Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr.
Espinosa Sr. was killed inside his cell at the Leyte Sub-Provincial Jail in Baybay City because the mayor put up a fight against policemen who were conducting a search inside the said cell at past 4:00 a.m. on November 5, according to the officials and members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Region 8 (CIDG – 8).
The mayor sustained four gunshot wounds.
During the Senate hearing, Albuera police chief Chief Inspector Jovie Espenido disclosed that Espinosa gave P8 Million to De Lima through Rolan Kevin Espinosa.
Rolan Kevin is twin brother of Rolan Kerwin.
Espenido said the delivery of the money was happened in Baguio City and inside a restaurant in Mall of Asia in Pasay City.
De Lima who heard the disclosure expressed disappointment.
She strongly denied it.
She averred that it was part of the Duterte administration’s demolition job on her.
Pacquiao said a certain “Dayan” received the money, according to the 24-year-old Espinosa.
Espinosa did not say if the Dayan whom he mentioned was Ronnie Dayan, De Lima’s former driver and lover for seven years.
Dayan was arrested by police operatives in his hideout in La Union on Tuesday.
During the press briefing at the Philippine National Police (PNP), Dayan was mum when asked by the media if he was also De Lima’s bagman.
He also did not say anything if he raised campaign money for De Lima’s senatorial bid.
Dayan said he will only speak at the Congressional hearing.
