FIVE alleged drug pushers were killed in three separate police operations in Caloocan City.
Police identified the victims as Jose Renier Lactao, Glenn Francis Tolentino, Julius Leonard Roldan, Ernesto Atienza, and a certain “Dodong.”
Lactao, Tolentino, and Roldan were killed past 1:00 a.m. in Brgy. Bagong Barrio.
According to Senior Supt. John Almazan, Caloocan Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Lactao, Tolentino, and Roldan have previously surrendered to the police and promised that they would stop selling shabu.
But Caloocan PNP intelligence unit disclosed that they continued their illegal activities.
Atienza was shot to death past before 2:00 in Brgy. Dagat-Dagatan.
Dodong was killed past 2:00 a.m. after he tried to escape and engaged in a firefight with the arresting policemen, police said.
Almazan vowed to continue cleaning up Caloocan City’s drug menace.
He said drug pushers are expected to be killed if they put up a fight against police operatives.
Caloocan City has been described both by the PNP and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) as one of the notorious places in Metro Manila in drug trafficking.
