THREE retired chief superintendents of the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Thursday ganged up two sacked officials of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) over P50 Million extortion scandal.

Retired Charles Calima Jr. together with former fellows at the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) on Thursday filed plunder charges against former BI Deputy Commissioners Al Argosino and Michael Robles at the Office of the Ombudsman.

Retired chief superintendent Wally Sombero also on Thursday went back to the Office of the Ombudsman and filed a 3-page supplemental complaint apparently to strengthen the graft and corruption charges he filed last week against Argosino and Robles at the Office of the Ombudsman.

At the same, Sombero surrendered the P2 Million cash to the Office of the Ombudsman as part of the pieces of evidence against Argosino and Robles.

The P2 Million was part of the P50 Million that Argosino and Robles received from Sombero on November 27 at the City of Dreams.

The P18 Million was given to Calima.

The P30 Million was taken by Argosino and Robles.

BI Commissioner Jaime Morente, a retired chief superintendent himself, rescued Calima where he stressed that the intelligence operations that he did had his approval.

Morente claimed that he ordered Calima to conduct a counter-intelligence work on Argosino and Robles after Sombero complained on them that Argosino and Robles refused to release the 1,350 Chinese nationals who were arrested by the BI operatives at the Fontana Leisure Parks and Casino in Clark Pampanga after they found to have been working illegally on questionable online gambling owned by a certain Jack Lam.

Sombero said the Chinese nationals were not released despite the P50 Million bribery.

Sombero claimed that Argosino and Robles were asking an additional P100 Million.

Senator Panfilo Lacson, himself a retired PNP chief, wanted to find out why Argosino and Robles only disclosed the P50 Million supposedly pay-offs on them after the incident exploded in the media.

Argosino and Robles are both fraternity brothers of President Rodrigo Duterte in the College of Law in San Beda College.

Duterte has already sacked Argosino and Robles.
