The hiring of the workers by the Datian Subic Shoes Inc. is expected to be done after its own plant being put up in a 42,800-square meter area at Phase II of the Subic Bay Gateway Park is finished by next year.

The Datian is expecting thousands of applicants from the province and nearby areas will take the opportunity to be hired.

Initially, the company needs 400 people.

Then, as its business will progress, the company bosses said they expect to hire a maximum of 2,500 employees until 2021.

This means, the residents of the province and nearby areas need not go to Metro Manila in order to get jobs.

Datian will be manufacturing branded vulcanized shoes for export.

It will produce shoes under global brands such as Keds, Converse, Sperry, and Vans for the American market, as well as Hugo Boss and Dr. Martens for the European market.

The Datian will be doing with what its parent company has been doing for a long period of time like stitching, rubber compounding, outsoles molding, insoles and arches sponging, rubber gluing and foxing operations.

The company has a target of manufacturing 350,000 pairs of shoes per month.

The company is expected to start its operations before the second quarter of 2017.
